Difficulty (1-10): 1, a monkey could do it
Estimated time: 5-10 minutes
tools required: phillips screwdriver, small flathead screwdriver, 10mm wrench
- Remove the cupholder and all the other junk in your center console. Put the ebrake in the down position.
- Remove the 2 screws pictured here.
- Pry up the trim piece shown here using a small screwdriver.
- Remove the 2 screws pictured here.
- The center console should now be free, go ahead & set it off to the side. Tighten up the 10mm adjusting nut shown in the picture. If you have the ebrake handle up, you probably won't be able to see the nut, hence why I told you to lower it in step 1. Turn it to the right to tighten up your e-brake, left to loosen. You might have to tighten it up quite a bit. You want to set it up so it's nice and tight after about 5 or 6 clicks of the handle.
- Work through steps 1-4 in reverse order to re-install.
