My Story

My fascination with the 3/S cars started when I was 16. In late 1990, I was car shopping with my sister in an effort to upgrade from the 130 gut-wrenching horses of my Cavalier RS. When we stopped at the local Dodge dealership to look into the Shelby Charger, I caught a glimpse of the car that would dominate my dreams for the next decade- a brand-new, never-before-seen Dodge Stealth. I pined over this car for months while begging my parents every chance I got. Unfortunately, the investment was just too much money to spend on a car for a beginning driver.

Ten years later, I have owned not one but two of these awe- inspiring vehicles. My tastes changed slightly over the years and my desires migrated from the Stealth to the Mitsubishi 3000GT. My first experience as an owner of these vehicles came June 1st, 1999 when I traveled across state lines to buy my 1998 3000GT base in Asheville, NC. After meeting several VR-4 owners at various gatherings, I knew it was time to take the next step. When my beloved base 3KGT and I were tragically parted in January of 2001, I had no other choice: I took the plunge. The car to which I devote myself today is the result of many hours of searching, excitement and disappointment. I had several false starts as I almost bought VR-4s with bad transmissions and other possibly major problems.

Finally, in March of 2001, I once again crossed state lines to find my baby waiting for me in Marietta, GA: a flawless 1995 Caracas Red 3000GT VR-4. After only one test drive, I paid the price and adopted a car that has changed my life. For me, 3Si is more than a car club- it's a way of life. I couldn't dream of a better way to live.
