My story:
The obsession all started before I was 13. My parents were in the market for a new car. The Stealth lost out to a Supercharged Thunderbird mainly due to rear seat space. 6 months later, and a 15' posi burnout in reverse in the driveway by my ma, the Thunderbird was sold. I guess I never recovered from them skipping over the Stealth. As soon as I had the means, and enough driving & mechanical experience for the car, I bought a 92 ES. It always treated me well. Fast forward 4 years.. I sold the CBR600F4 that I had and started looking for TT Stealths. My first purchase looked like a clean deal from Las Vegas. 70k Miles, Everything appeared stock.
I picked it up in Chicago. Right away the tailights didn't work & the drivers side trim was falling off. 5 miles into the ride home, I lose all gears but 3rd. 10 more miles and I lose the A/C. No prob, it was only 80 degrees and humid that day. So I ended up driving the 150 miles home in 3rd gear with no A/C. Nice!!! {sarcastic if you didn't notice.}
That winter I couldn't give the car away so I started to buy parts. Lots and lots of parts.
I've learned a ton while rebuilding/restoring this car. This forum has been priceless. I've spent $0 on labor so far. I've bought well over 7k in parts. I think that is fairly impressive.
This winter the only thing I haven't touched will be pulled. The engine & turbos. That will lead to larger turbos and more electronics. Wish me luck!!!
