When your door is open there is a constant beep which is emitted by your car. If you do any work on the interior and have the door open, this can be a real pain. In order to fix it you will just need to disconnect one wire.
Disconnecting the Harness[edit]
- Remove bracket by stereo (using a flat screwdriver)
- Unscrew 4 visible screws
- Pull stereo straight out in a upwards motion
- Now is a good time to document the numbers on the stereo. If you ever disconnect the negative terminal on the battery you will need the numbers to get the security code from a Mitsu dealer to reactive the deck
- See pic attached... UNPLUG THE BUZZER in the upper right hand corner of the stereo bay
- Put stereo back in place
- Rescrew 4 screws
- Attach stereo bracket
- Put key in ignition.. open door... and relax in the silence
