Throughout high school, I was always into cars. I had never heard of the 3000GT (or the Stealth) until senior year when a buddy of mine mentioned 3SI and how he loves these cars. After visiting the site, seeing the cars in pictures (very rare here in Cincinnati, Ohio) I knew this was my dream car. A couple months go by and I was tempted into buying a 99SL with 135K miles on it. I test drove it, and I loved it. As I was returning the car to the lot, another 3000GT owner said he was selling his VR4 and that I should check it out. A week later, August of 2004, his 1993 Black with Blue Pearl VR4 became mine. I was ecstatic. The thrill of driving a turbo charged vehicle was awesome. It already had an HKS boost controller and boost gauge installed, so I was feeling 12-14psi right off the bat. | Throughout high school, I was always into cars. My Story
Fast forward to August of 2005 - I was involved in a minor car accident in which the front end of my car and hood needed to be replaced. Free upgrades are always good. I had been debating about going 99 front end for a few months, and here was the sign (and incidentally free money) to do it. Thus, by the end of August, 99 front bumper, lights and a 99 OEM carbon fiber hood (courtesy of IPS) was installed. Of course, the mod bug hit, and hit hard. Through 2006 and 2007, I purchased quite a lot of goodies. The carbon fiber drive shaft, the HIDs, lowering springs etc... The big purchase of the VLS kit was a great day. More to the point, installing them was an even better day. At this point, I have the interior looking 95% of where I want it, exterior just needs some paint, and the engine just needs some bigger turbos = )
Unfortunately, I am selling the car soon. I have always wanted to enter the ROTM/ROTY competition, so I figured I might as well do it before it gets sold (I think that is part of the rules, anyway). So, here's hoping!
